MATERIALS
Pole Spine Options
The pole spine is clear pine and sits inside the tube and is visible at the ends. Choose from a pole spine that is either:
• Unfinished pine
• Pine a maple finish
Pole Covering Material Options
• Carpet
Soft white, claw-friendly, and visually cohesive with CatScapes shelves. Ideal for climbing up—your cat's claws can hook into the carpet’s backing for a solid grip. Carpet will wear down faster than sisal, but with carpet the tube is designed for easy replacement without removing brackets or end caps.
• Sisal
Coarser and more textured than carpet. Excellent for climbing and especially helpful when descending, offering superior grip and control. More durable than carpet and ideal for intense climbers. Though its look differs from the shelves, it's the top choice for performance and longevity. Unlike carpet, the entire unit covered in sisal needs to be replaced when worn down.
• Custom Options
Custom carpet colors available with a 7-span minimum order (14 linear feet). Contact CatScapes directly for more information on this option before placing your order. Contact CatScapes before placing your order if you want to order a custom carpet color.
End-Bracket/s Options
CatScapes brackets are made from solid steel and finished with a nickel plating that resists rust, scratches, and daily wear. This durable finish means your wall setup stays strong, secure, and looking clean over time—no chipping paint or flaking coatings. The smooth, metallic surface also wipes down easily, making it both practical and polished in any room.
Each pole comes with one bracket by default, which is enough if you're attaching the pole to another CatScapes shelf or system.
If you’re planning to install the pole on its own (not connected to shelves or other components), you’ll need to add a second bracket for proper support.
In the dropdown:
• “0” means you're not adding an extra bracket (only use this if you're attaching the pole to something else).
• “1” means you're adding the second bracket needed for a standalone installation. We recommend selecting “1” if you're using this pole on its own.
SAFETY
The more interconnected spans, and the steeper the angles, the higher the weight limit.
More than our regular shelves, it is strongly encouraged that the climbing poles be installed on studs and headers.
There is no minimum order requirement for CatScapes climbing poles, but CatScapes poles and shelves are designed to be interconnected for structural stability and to provide cats with contiguous configurations for fluid movement.
Whether it is one span or one hundred spans, make sure you select an end-bracket to "tie-off" any given configuration.

SPECIFICATIONS
Climbing poles have an approximate outer-diameter of 5"
Pole length is 28" and refers to the carpeted/sisal, cylindrical portion of the pole.
The wooden "spine" of the pole that attaches to the brackets extends an additional ~2" in both directions.
1 precision-engineered hinge-bracket is also included.
Poles can also be purchased in in lengths of 36" and 42"
Do I need to order more brackets?
Each CatScapes climbing pole comes with the 1 bracket, with each bracket coming with 2 U-Clips. You will need to order extra brackets if you're splitting up kits, adding standalone poles, or designing a custom configuration. If you're unsure whether you need to order additional brackets reach out to CatScapes for advice.
INSTALLATION
What type of wall?
CatScapes must be installed on standard drywall with wooden studs.
If you're renovating or building new, adding a layer of plywood behind the drywall is idea. It reinforces the entire wall, making installation more flexible and secure.
Plaster and lath walls are not suitable, as they can crumble and won’t hold the hardware safely.
How to Install
The poles can be positioned an equal distance from the wall at both ends or closer to the wall on one end and farther from the wall at the other end.
All poles require at least one end-bracket to "tie-off" the system.
Any handyperson will be able to install Catscapes with ease. There are just a few steps that are repeated for each bracket and shelf or pole.
It is a one-person job that doesn't even require a ruler, and once the brackets are installed, the rest assembles with the two included Allen keys. All of the components can be assembled, disassembled, re-assembled, and replaced with an Allen key for easy cleaning, refreshing, and updating.
Once the wall-plates are installed, all of the components, including the carpet pads, assemble, disassemble, re-assemble, and replace with the two Allen keys that come with the brackets for easy cleaning, refreshing, and updating.
Each pieced typically takes minutes to install.

Additional End-Bracket/s for Climbing Pole
Delivery Signature Option
Inspired by the way cats scale trees (or curtains), these modular, wall-mounted poles encourage climbing, scratching and stretching.
They’re engineered to encourage the kinds of full-body movements that engage your cat’s muscles, ligaments, and natural agility, benefits a typical perch or cat shelf just can’t deliver.
Encourage what comes naturally. With CatScapes climbing poles, your cat gets more than exercise, they get freedom of movement, emotional enrichment, and a daily reminder that their wild instincts are welcome in your home.
Using the unique, patented CatScapes hinge-brackets, CatScapes climbing poles can connect with other CatScapes poles and shelves and be positioned at any angle.
Who is this best for?
- Homes looking to integrate vertical movement without using floor space
- Cats with energy to burn
- Cat lovers who want more than just a place for their cats to perch or nap
Why You'll Love It
Space-saving alternative to cat trees
Wall-mounted poles take up zero floor space, unlike traditional cat trees that are bulky, hard to clean around, and often clash with your interior. The result is a cleaner look and a smarter use of vertical space.
Supports true feline movement
Cats don’t just perch, they leap, climb, wrap, and stretch. The climbing pole provides a safe, structured outlet for their wildest and healthiest instincts.
Design that blends in
Carpeted poles match CatScapes shelves for a cohesive look, or opt for sisal for a sharper contrast and greater durability.
Your wall, Your way
Install vertically, diagonally, or horizontally. Like a branch growing off a tree trunk, these poles can be placed at any angle and direction.
Modular and expandable
Connect poles with shelves into one flowing system—or create a dramatic centerpiece on its own. Either way, it adapts with your cat’s needs.
Why Your Cat Will Love It
Climb, cling, and coil
The textured surface gives cats the grip they need to pull themselves up, wrap around the pole, or dangle in mid-stretch.
Natural instincts satisfied
The pole replicates tree-trunk behavior with safe descent options. No more awkward leaps or kitten rescues from shelves too high.
Confidence through motion
Physical activity boosts feline mental and emotional health. The pole becomes a gym, playground, and personal jungle all in one.
Branching options
Shelves at the top or sides of the pole make for natural transitions and endless exploration.

FAQ
What surface can I attach the shelves to?
CatScapes is intended for standard drywall.
If you're renovating or building new, adding a layer of plywood behind the drywall is ideal. It reinforces the entire wall, making installation even more solid.
Plaster and lath walls are not suitable.
What tools will I need for installation?
Installation and assembly is executed using the two ordinary Allen keys that come with CatScapes brackets and a power drill. A leveler will come in handy if wanting to position a shelf level. And that's it!
During installation, you'll want to measure-out blue painters tape in the quantities and lengths of the shelves you plan to order.
And that's it!
Can they be used outdoors?
CatScapes Cat Shelves are intended for indoor use exclusively.
How do I keep them clean?
Carpet pads should be vacuumed, as ordinary carpet would be. For stains, obtain carpet cleaner and follow instructions (e.g. clean with a light circular motion rather than scrubbing).
What additional customization options are available?
Custom colors and finishes for all of the components except for the nickel-plated brackets are available for an additional charge. Reach out to Catscapes for more information.
